Surgery hours
Blaircourt Equine surgery hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
We operate on an appointment only basis, and always try to be as flexible as possible to cater for your needs. Whenever possible, and within reason, you choose which vet you would like to see, and we strongly advocate continuity in patient care. It is important that the vet and client have a trusting relationship, which we feel is based on continuity over a long period of time.
Our visit fees range from £15 to £37 (excl VAT), depending on mileage from the clinic, and an average consultation is £27 (excl VAT). Our out-of-hours surcharge ranges from £35 to £70 (excl VAT).
Payment terms
 For all routine veterinary care such as dental work and vaccinations, we request payment at the time of the vet’s visit. For most other consultations, we offer 14 days interest free credit. Receptionists will advise as to whether payment is expected or not.
Credit on larger invoices for work done in the clinic will be discussed at the time of admission. Blaircourt has aggressively pursued marketing the need for equine pet insurance. In most cases we are happy to wait for payment from the insurance companies, and only ask that you settle the amounts that are not covered by your insurance policy, such as excesses, livery and occasionally, remedial shoeing.
Please be advised that some insurance companies have very long turnaround times and thus we may ask for the invoice to be settled in full on our terms and then ask you to claim back from the insurance company. Please feel free to discuss this with Jackie in the office if you are unsure.
